Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present a brief overview of the applications and assessment of heart rate variability. Researchers, clinicians and other health practitioners may find value in this index of autonomic regulation. We specifically highlight the ease of usage and cost-effectivenss of a portable heart rate monitor for the assessment of heart rate variability.
