Abstract

Background. Ramadan observance requires 29 days of abstinence from food and fluid from dawn till sunset. How far does this compromise the aerobic activity of well-trained young men? Our null hypothesis was that the observance of Ramadan would have no significant impact upon either ventilatory thresholds or maximal oxygen intake.
